Podcast Review: The Majority Report

  • Why?
At first glance this might seem like an odd recommendation. This is a daily podcast that was once a terrestrial radio program on Air America. Sounds like squishy liberal centrism, I know, but it's not.
It's a good podcast for learning about aspects of politics you might not be exposed to elsewhere. The guests are often academics, authors, or journalists.
Richard Wolff talked about Marx and why we need more socialism in the USA. Daniel Bessner talked about our privatized foreign policy and why it never changes no matter who is in office. Terence Keel debunked race science and talked about its roots in religion.
A good recent episode featured Henry Giroux. He talked about American fascism, "the politics of disposability", and the need for a more socialist economy.
